Summer Travel – Now?!?
You've seen the news and read the stories. Gas prices getting higher. Hotel rates on the rise. Passports delayed. Air travel is a mess with delays, limited crews, full planes, security waits.
The AAA auto and travel association found in its annual vacation costs survey that lodging costs have increased 8% over last year due to higher demand and higher energy and wage expenses.
According to Joel Widzer, travel columnist for MSNBC.com, these factors aren't a deterrent to travel in the summer as that is often the only season that some people, especially families, can travel.
In fact, according to a travel study conducted for Expedia.com, 65% of Americans plan to take a summer vacation, but fewer are taking 2 week vacations and most are now opting for long weekends.

One of the great aspects of renting a resort condo is that you can save money on food, can get last minute deals and there are often full amenities beyond those offered by a hotel.
If you are trying to rent or sell your timeshare condo, this may be the perfect time for those families seeking to go away for a long weekend!!

Mr. Widzer from MSNBC.com provided some cost-savings tips in one of his recent columns:
•
Shorten the trip. Instead of taking a seven-day vacation, limit it to four or five nights, saving on food, car rentals and other related costs.
• Have patience and wait for deals. Travel providers have raised prices in anticipation of a record number of summer travelers. If these expectations are not met, look for prices to drop and specials to appear.
• Think short distances. While many airlines have increased fares on popular long-distance routes, many have reduced fares on shorter routes.
• Cash in your miles. Now might be the time to use those miles you've been saving.
• Look local. Think of the opportunities in your own backyard. If you're in Baltimore, take a weekend and explore the Inner Harbor. If you're in Philadelphia, revisit the museums and the Liberty Bell.

Tips on your how to close the sale of your timeshare
SOLD your timeshare! How to close the deal...
Ok, you now have someone who wants to buy your timeshare and you now need to transfer ownership.
Once the buyer and seller have agreed on the sales price, you will need to move to the next step, the closing. We recommend using a company that
specializes in
timeshare closings. These companies provide the best service and value especially in an area that is unfamiliar to most of us. You can find a list of timeshare closing companies here:
www.MyResortNetwork.com/timeshare-closing/
You may want to check with more than one company for pricing and get a feel for which company you would be the most comfortable using. We believe that these closing companies will provide the easiest and least expensive way to close on your timeshare sale. You may also want to check with the resort directly. In some cases, the office personnel at the resort may be able to assist
you
in
recording the buyer as the new owner and help facilitate the transfer of ownership and funds.
Who pays for the closing? This is really up to the buyer and seller to decide. You may want to keep it simple and fair. Agreeing to split the closing costs may work the best.
