If you plan to stay here reconsider I have never been so disappointed in my life. After being in room a few minutes bugs(roaches) were crawling every where. I told my husband I would not stay he agreed and we made our way right back to Dallas. Live and Learn I had read the bad reviews!

Readers should divide reviews into pre and post hurricane Ike reconstruction. This resort is small, but very nice. The staff is helpful and the ocean views lovely. The resort is small, but offers a fitness center, pool, hot tub, sauna and has a great location. They offer the usual activities(bingo, crafts etc, but on a limited scale. This is not a Marriott, but doesn't claim to be. Galveston is an interesting city, replete with history. Once a center of commerce and shipping it now is focusing on tourism. The old Strand district is full of shops and the downtown has some great restaurants. Don't miss the Gumbo Bar, especially if you like fresh oysters and good beer and wine. My February stay had mild weather. Come relax!

I was a bit nervous after reading several unfavorable reviews about this property, however, we were there in late August and we found the unit to be clean and the staff to be very accomodating. The appliances, furniture and carpet appeared to be new and view of the gulf was amazing. The one negative, I have to mention, is the outside of the property. The place defintely needs a new coat of paint and some cleaning up and the neighborhood around the property is not the best. Zero curb appeal.

To say we were extremely disappointed is to put it mildly. We found the following conditions: musty, moldy smell; cockroaches; water coming in under the balcony door; peeling plaster on the ceiling; dirty, stained and torn dining room chairs; door locks are not secured; carpets need cleaning, TV being secured by ropes; stained pillow cases; old matted blankets. I would not recommend this place to anyone. This place should not be called a resort. If it has been remodeled , it was very minor. I would say that it has been painted and new carpet a few years ago. And maybe some new mattresses. This place should be removed from the system, it is not up to the standards or quality that was presented to me when I joined my timeshare. If this i<

We were very disappointed with our accomodations. Although the pool is nice, everything else is old and needs repair! Paint is peeling, fencing broke, stairs rusted. We bought lysol with clorox to clean the shower. There is a guard who leaves at 1am and 2 cars were broken into while we were there. There is a nice view of the gulf, but the nearest sand beach is about a mile away. I would not recommend this place and will not be back.

We stayed for a week at the end of July '07. The rooms had been renovated with new paint, carpet and furniture. I was fairly impressed! the view is impeccable. We had an excellent time!

We stayed here June 6-7, 2007. We enjoyed our stay. The place is old and needs updating, but it was clean! We saw no bugs or anything. It's not fancy, but adequate if you are on a budget. It has 2bed/2baths, plus kitchen and washer/dryer.

Overall, we were disappointed with our room at this resort. Some of the reasons: rusty bathtub; discolored and old carpets; no high-speed or wireless internet; outdated stereo (a record player and cassette tape player instead of a VCR or DVD? Come on!); the couch was torn; the locks were second-rate and not what you would expect from a property of this nature; we encountered a nice big cockroach in the bathroom one night as we turned the lights on. The room layout was nice. We noticed there was a security guard on duty most of the time. The staff were friendly and it looked like the tennis courts were decent and well-lit. It was nice to be right by the sea, although one has to cross a busy road to be able to walk near the shore.
