Tequisquiapan is a beautiful place 1 and half hour from México City and 40 minutes from Queretaro's intenational airport and 1.5 hours from San Miguel de Allende, and its the perfect place to stay as a base, from there you can go to many other places and retur, like Bernal's "Peña", Freixenet Wine Factory, the geiser, a cactus garden, and many other places. Tequiquiapan is also a good place to stay and read a book or write.
