We spent Memorial Day week (21) and week 24 here last year. It was our first time visiting the area. My whole family loved it here. I hung out on beach and hung out with kids my age, my brother swam in pool and played on beach with my Mom. My Dad and brother also fished on pier and visited aquarium. We also went into nearby Wilmington and picked stuff up at Walmart down the road. Great shops for beach stuff. Our unit was extrememly large w/ master bedroom and smaller bedroom w/ twin beds plus sleeper sofa. Two bathrooms was nice as well. Large full kitchen w/ dishwasher and breakfast bar w/ stools. Our unit has view of pool and beach. In the a.m. my parents would sit on balcony and at night I'd sit on balcony. Warm swim water in MAY !!!

I'll be going back for my second year to the North Pier this labor day. Love the peaceful setting. While my husband is fishing on the pier, I'll be sitting on the beach. I love the idea of having the same unit every year. The staff is really friendly and very helpful. I did stop by recently and saw the new railings they had put up and it looks like a new place since last year. I would recommend a vacation at the North Pier to everyone.

Pleasure Island, Carolina Beach. I've been vacationing here with my family since the mid 1940's. Now, as a grandmother, I take my children and grandchildren. Bought two units NPOV in 1985. Exchanged for other resorts only twice until this year @ OC, MD. This is not Myrtle Beach, SC, or Ocean City, MD, but it has the quiet I prefer for reading. I've alway felt safe here and continue that feeling with my grandchildren. Beach is only steps away "over the rocks" and near the pier. Burgers are GREAT at the pier - pool table. The office (not open every day)is responsive to complaints, usually same day. Condo is comfortable, door to deck needs replacing - difficult to slide open. VCR in room living room, assortment old tapes in office.:)

I have owned time-share at North Pier Ocean Villas since 1985. Though the furniture has declined over the years - cheaper stuff, you know - my family still prefers the quiet on the north side of Pleasure Island than the Boardwalk atmosphere. Access to the beach at the North pier is; however, hampered by having to walk over large boulders. Parking is limited to two cars, as it is at most resorts, where most times we need three spots. This is a quiet place, so if you're looking for the excitement of Ocean City, MD, or Myrtle Beach, SC, forget it. The units have weathered storms since '85 and rot has been discovered under siding. It's being repaired. I recently took family to Ocean City in June and will go back in Sep, RCI exchange.

Behind the villas within walking distance is the pier. It has great fishing, ice cream store during the day and a bar at nite. In town there is a store that rents mopeds, surreys, 2 men bicycles. There is also a cute coffee/ice cream shop by the boardwalk that has all sorts of games set up to play as you converse with the locals. The bad news: Think of that funky hotel on the beach, the one where all you care about is being on the beach. If that is all your looking for, great! Bathroom:clean/dated. Inside kitchen cabinets:disgusting. Dishwasher:missing knobs, door would fall open randomly. Balcony:covered in birdcrap. Bunkbeds: no ladder, no guard on the top bunk. Carpet:new. Staff: Wonderful. Advice: The Courtyard Marriot in Carolina Beach
