Chautauqua is a unique experience. When you stay within the grounds of the institute, you have the feeling of stepping into a special world (one where time stands still and solid values prevail). The lake is beautiful, but the tradition of good music, wonderful art and food for the intellect prevails. Our weeks there have been filled with family, friends, long walks and some great golf.

A beautiful resort, renowned for its summer cultural activities, for lake sailing, swimming, fishing. In winter, a wonderland. Streets partially plowed so that we could cross-country ski everywhere, including on the lake. Horse-drawn sleigh rides, Currier and Ives days in early February, the nearby Peak 'n' Peek ski resort make it the perfect winter getaway spot. The resort even supplies wood for the fireplaces, and the units are top-notch. They comfortably sleep eight. Loved skiing to the cafe on the square for homemade soup and fresh baked goods each day. The book store held our New York Times for us each morning.

NorthShore at Chautauqua is located on the grounds of the Chautauqua Institution, a Victorian village along the shores of Lake Chautauqua. Gold Crown. Closest. GORGEOUS place.
