Why not take a ferry from Woodshole to Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket.Once you get to the Islands, there is public transportation that is easily accessible from the SSA terminals. There is much to do within walking distance of the ferries: charming shops and restaurants, or head to the beaches. There are also plenty of taxis, tour buses, and car and bike rentals, all conveniently located.
