This resort is great for families. We were not sure about a summer trip to the mountains, but did we ever have a great time. The scenery is incredible and there is so much to do in this area, BRV is right in the middle of everything. White water rafting, golf, fishing, hiking, climbing, shopping and great restaruants are all justminutes from your door.
The on-site amenties are great for the families as well. Mini golf, indoor pool and a small pond with paddle boats are all free for guests.
We just got back from a long weekend and are already planning a winter ski trip as the entrance to Sugar Mtn is located just accross the street! We will definately go back next summer. The staff went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable

My parents fell in love with this resort when it first opened. We visit every year and we love it. My wife and I bought a second week. Mom owns week 44 and we own 40; the leaves turn during our stay. At first, we used the heated indoor pool and other on-site amenities often. After learning about all the attractions in the quaint mountain towns in the area, we now spend a lot of time seeing the sights. The little town of Blowing Rock is our favorite place to visit; a beautiful little town with every thing from a Bob Timberlake Gallery to country cooking at Knights on Main. Trout fishing, shops, shows, and Food. Once back "home" we crank up the gas logs, kick back and enjoy the view. Spacious, peaceful, and relaxing.
