Chetola Resort is an 87 acre resort within walking distance of a quaint mountain village, neighboring a 3600 acre National Park and surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina. Guests will find first class accommodations in Chetola's Lodge, Luxury Condominiums or the Bob Timberlake Inn at Chetola Resort. Chetola Lodge has 42 rooms with views of Chetola Lake or overlooking the grounds. Chetola Lodge rooms are large and feature two queen beds or one king-sized bed. Luxury condominiums are available from one to four bedrooms in size. All Bob Timberlake Inn guest rooms feature either a king bed or a queen bed, flat screen televisions, fireplace, whirlpool tubs, DVD players, in room safes, and robes. Most rooms have a view of Chetola Lake. Area attractions include Mast General Store, located in Valle Crucis and Boone, established in 1883 and listed on the Natural Register of Historic Places; The Blue Ridge Parkway, running for 469 miles linking Shenandoah National Park in Virginia to Great Smoky Mountains National Park on the border of North Carolina and Tennessee, the magnificent mountain vistas seem endless; Grandfather Mountain, the highest peak in the Blue Ridge is the only private park in the world designated by the United Nations as an International Biosphere Reserve; Linville Falls, with two main trails leading to the lower and upper falls; Linville Caverns, slowly moving ground water created this maze of underground labyrinths, and; Appalachian Ski Mountain, an ideal winter getaway for skiers of all ages and abilities.
Another timeshare vacation opportunity is Swiss Mountain Village. This resort has both Swiss-style chalets, log cabins, and a stoced trout lake. Each of the units has a full kitchen, washer/dryer, cable TV, and a beautiful stone fireplace. Swiss Mountain Village is located on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
