The Commodore Beach Club is located on a sandy beach overlooking the clear blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico in Madeira Beach, near St. Petersburg. Madeira Beach is known for its expansive white beaches and some of the finest sand dollar hunting and shelling around. The sunsets are resplendent in color. Called the "Sunshine City," St. Petersburg has an excellent climate for year-round outdoor recreation. The beaches are the primary center of activity. You can enjoy skin diving, parasailing, fishing, boating, waterskiing, and sailing. Be sure to visit the Salvador Dali Museum, Busch Gardens, John's Pass Village, The Pier, Baywalk, Sunkin Gardens, Tropicana Field, and numerous golf courses. Historic areas such as Tampa's Ybor City and Tarpon Springs, where Greek settlers established Florida's sponge-fishing industry, are nearby.
