Paradise is located on the southern end of Lake Tahoe, a half-mile from the lake. Seven marinas at the lake rent a complete line of powerboats and sailboats, ski equipment, and more. Other warm-weather activities include cycling, hiking, camping, golf, racquetball, tennis, and horseback riding. Winter sports include cross-country and downhill skiing at more than 20 ski areas within an hour's drive of the resort. Local attractions include Vikingsholm Castle- Scandinavian architecture in the Western Hemisphere, built in 1929, Emerald Bay- hiking trails from Vikingsholm Castle will take you to this fabled bay for an exquisite view of the Lake, The Gondola at Heavenly- an eight-passenger gondola whisks you 2.4 miles for a view usually available only to eagles, pilots, and mountain climbers, D.L. Bliss State Park- known for one of the finest beaches in the area and several popular hiking trails, and Tallac Historic Site- summer homes of those who enjoyed living in the gilded age of South Lake Tahoe.
Another resort in the local area is Tahoe Seasons Resort. Tahoe Seasons Resort is located at the base of Heavenly Ski Resort--one of the nation's largest ski areas--and is a short distance from beautiful Lake Tahoe. The resort offers the amenities of a full-service hotel, including a 24-hour front desk, bell desk, and free valet parking. The restaurant serves breakfast and dinner daily and offers room service. An outdoor pool and hot tub are available year-round, and the view from the rooftop tennis and volleyball courts is spectacular.
