The Flying L Guest Ranch is located in the Texas Hill Country. Grab your jeans and boots and come on out. The Flying L Ranch is the place to reconnect with friends and family. Come hike or horseback ride on trails that tread through mile after mile of natural woodlands. You'll see plenty of deer, possum and squirrels. You can splash the day away at the Lone Star Lagoon - Flying L's waterpark and lazy river environment. Guests at the Flying L can choose from an almost endless list of things to do, which range from indoor amusement to a full range of activities utilizing the Flying L's miles of trail-laden grounds. Here are a few ideas to get you started: break 100 on the 18-hole championship golf course, mosey over to the equestrian center for horseback riding lessons, trail rides and rodeo events, cool down at the Lone Star Lagoon waterpark, which includes a lazy river, wave pool, "figure-eight" waterslide and waterfalls, gather ‘round the campfire in "Ghost Town," Flying L's inventive recreation of a once-lively stagecoach depot, for barn dancing, and nightly western entertainment, learn to rope a steer at a calf scramble, or chow down at a creekside BBQ. Other ameneties include hiking, fishing, basketball, volleyball, tennis, shuffleboard, horseshoes or rent a bike from the pro shop or play a round at the new putt putt course.
Another beautiful resort is Silverleaf's Holly Lake Ranch. Situated amidst the famed Piney Woods of East Texas, Holly Lake Ranch offers a variety of lake activities, including fishing and boating. On land, try golf, tennis, biking, hiking, camping, or archery. You'll also find three outdoor pools, a playground, restaurant, and country store on site. Close by is Tyler, where Tyler's attractions include the Caldwell Zoo and the Goodman Museum. A day-trip to Dallas is only 116 miles away.
