Just got home from a lovely week at the Hona Koa. We enjoyed our stay. It's definately getting older but it is clean and our room seems to get updated every few years. I wish the second bedroom had a king bed also instead of the 2 twins. If you go with another couple it would be nicer to have two Master Suites instead of drawing straws.

We stayed at the Hono Koa in April 2010. What a beautiful resort! We stayed in a KOA unit.the only way to go! It is one of the end units with direct oceanfront. RIGHT on the water! We had a 180 degree view and saw whales breaching right off our lanai! The sea turtles play every morning on the reef right in front. The unit was big and spacious with a great granite kitchen and 2 large bedrooms. It has a washer dryer in the unit. It is a very nice quiet smaller resort. We had the pool and hot tub to ourselves most of the time. The service was great and so friendly! We plan on going back and will definately stay here again!

We stayed at the Hono Koa for a week last November and it was the most amazing place! We rented one of the KOA units (there are 4 truly oceanside units) We thought we were in the penthouse! The kitchen was big and beautiful with granite countertops. There were 2 huge bedrooms, 2 huge baths and a wrap around deck that was only feet from the ocean! We went to sleep every night hearing the crashing of the waves! You could snorkel right out front and the view is unobstructed and to die for. You can whale watch right from your lanai. There is a great pool and hot tub and was hardly used. It is a smaller resort which is something we really liked. It is pure luxury! We will be back and we will stay in a KOA unit again for sure!
