We stayed for a week in Oct 2009. While the place is nice and historic, the service and amenities were non-existent. There was no front desk, guest services, or anybody on staff regularly. The brick walls and high ceilings were nice. The makeshift kitchen was not. The shared balcony had doors opening onto it that didn't latch securely/tight, so it was a little nerveracking.especially when the power went out one night. And there was nobody on staff. Was the resort clean? Yes, definitely. Was it in a good location? Yes, it was on the edge of the French Quarter. You could easily walk to everything within the Quarter. Would I stay there again? Probably not, for all of the reasons listed above and more that I can't fit here.

my family was just there in sept/2008 and the place was just everything and more! great place old historic place but has been restored. the staff was very helpful and everthing close by.great location walking distance to everthing! plus we just love the city so can't wait to go back and stay at the same resort!

My parents have been owners at the Jean Lafitte House for years. It's in a great location. Not in the heart of all the noise (& stink) of Bourbon St. but the few blocks walk is not bad after you've eaten a wonderful meal. The folks at resort are very friendly and are more than helpful in planning your day. I haven't been there in a few years but I plan to go this coming July with a few of my girlfriends for a fun weekend!

We stayed at the Jean Lafitte House in early September 2001. Our stay was extended by two days because of 9/11 in New York. We had no way to leave the city of New Orleans.airlines were at a standstill. The manager of the Lafitte House allowed us to spend those two extra days until we were able to get on a flight back to Washington State. We loved the city and the Lafitte House, and would go back in a heartbeat. Hope they didn't suffer damage during Hurricane Katrina. Jackie Wills

I stayed at the Jean Lafitte for a week during Mardi Gras 2004! What a great time, and the living conditions were fine. I had never stayed in a condo before, but everyone was very helpful and informative. Only thing is, I thought a maid service would be around to vaccuum during the week, but they only gave you fresh towels. Lots of bedding. Cutlery, dishes, dishwasher.I was quite amazed. I would go back again!
