Post a resort review for Kinston Manor at Foxwood

Savannah Fowler

Kinston Manor / Villas of Foxwood in Westminster, S.C. is not anything what their website or other vacation properties websites describes or shows photos of. If you like to pay to stay in disgusting, filthy, atrocious, deplorable conditions then this would be the perfect place for you. I would advise anyone before wanting to visit or stay at this resort to go on internet, especially to Trip Advisor and read the comments posted by many others that have stayed at this resort and then if you feel you still want to stay there, do not say you were not warned beforehand.

A few weeks ago we took some friends from Fla. to Kinston Manor at Foxwood in Westminster, SC. The people at the checkin were very helpful and good to deal with the whole time we stayed there. The resort is in the middle of no where without lake access. The unit where we stayed had been updated but still looked run down. It was a split level unit and the down stairs was very cold while the up stairs was very hot and they said that nothing could be done. The porch had rotten boards and the tolet seat down stairs was broken but was fixed while we were there. I would give then 2 stars out of 5 and not recommend it to a friend.

I'm posting this to get a current review on-line. The unit we stayed in was clean and bug free, something hard to do in SC. The microwave was older with a mechanical timer which stopped working after our first use. We left early due to near constant rain so it wasn't replaced during our stay. We had trouble with a sticking door and a slow toilet which were fixed within 24 hours. The TV in the "great room" was only 19" and it was hooked to cable and a combo VCR/DVD player while there was a 27" TV in the main bedroom. The unit was equipped with a queen and a pair of double beds. The indoor pool was open in May. There isn't a lot to do in the immediate area but the Walmart and other shopping, etc. is only 20 min away.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit last April. The complex was practically deserted that time of year but it was beautiful. The condo was ok but there were a few big spiderwebs. The windows are almost skylights so I am sure they are hard to clean but we kept waiting for something to crawl down on us! The setting is gorgeous. It's secluded but there are many day trips close by. The indoor pool was great. There were no activities for our teenager but he had a great time at the pool and hiking and fishing nearby the resort. I would stay here again!
