Post a resort review for Ocean Sands

A. I.

I am an owner and this is a mediocre outdated hotel (not resort). The rooms are dated and the bathrooms have an old jacuzzi type tub with mildew in the jacuzzi components. Do not let the management trick you into a timeshare presentation for a free dinner. Do not buy a timeshare at this hotel. If you are an owner and you request to have the management rent your unit for the week, they take majority of the money and do not give you enough to pay your yearly maintenance fee. For a prime week in July, with a yearly maintenance fee of just under $900, they give you less than $700 for renting your oceanfront unit in July for 7 days. That is less than a $100 a night on an ocean front where it normally costs $250-$300 a night to rent a hotel

This resort is right on the boardwalk and you can go to sleep with the sound of the ocean as the windows open! The kitchen was great! The rooms had been renovated and were very clean. we liked it so much that we bought two properties from VSA resorts.

This resort is OK but I've owned it since late 90's when it was 1st turned into resort. hotel rms had balconies. They were taken away to make rm big enough to fit kitchens. My wk was in Sept. At 1st it wasn't bad & they had a boat trip each yr to get to know your neighbors, they had trolley coins for free and some other amenities but every year they took at least 1 away & now your lucky if you can get your room vacumned. Actually there is a small one you can use yourself but sometimes a GOOD vacumning is nice. I was across from the washer/dryer which was nice on 2nd FL. There was also a deck you could go on from that Fl with lounge chairs but they fixed it up and put tikki bar on it. Looked nice but they lock the door & you had to rent it.

My family stayed at this resort in August. Very nice resort. Right on the beach. However, there are no balconies though to enjoy the ocean view. Maintenance and cleanliness is about average for timeshares. We were in a very small unit and would have difficulties sleeping 4 adult size people. But if you have children, sleeping four people in the unit would be possible (though still tight). The front desk staff could be a bit more polite and smile a bit. The complimentary internet service was very nice. My family would consider returning to this resort if we could get a larger unit.

I feel so at home at the VSA Resort, Ocean Sands. Come down the elevator and you are right on the boardwalk with the ocean right straight ahead. Clean, clean white sand dredged by the city every day. The boardwalk is lit all night. You can eat out or cook in the full kitchen in your unit. Sit back and enjoy the color TV with cable with the ocean out your window. Watch the people walking or riding or skating on the boardwalk. The houskeeping service will bring you anything you need, fresh towels, coffee, incidentals. Go up on the 5th floor and swim in the indoor pool year round. Enjoy the hot tub and sauna. The resort also sponsors day trips to nearby Williamsbury, and Norfolk, and other places during the week. Child care activities too.
