Ocean Watch Beach Club is a timeshare resort on Fire Island. The Beach Club assures visitors peace and tranquility along a 37-mile stretch of white sand beach. No cars are allowed on Fire Island. The Beach Club is 10 miles from Islip Airport and 40 miles from downtown New York City for those who want to pick up the pace a little. The resort offers a bar, clubhouse, an outdoor swimming pool, laundry room, live entertainment, and recreation area, as well as indoor lounge, snack bar, ocean, and beach chair rentals. Nearby are boating, fishing, tennis, water skiing, grocery store, and playground area. Kismet is Fire Island's westernmost party hub; a largely swinging single Fire Island beach community boasting a vibrant nightlife of never-ending happy hours, disco dancing, and boisterous house parties. The Fire Island Light House is Fire Island's most historically significant landmark. Originally built in 1857, the Fire Island light house is now rebuilt and open to the public as a museum and observatory. Sayville Ferry runs historical trips to the lighthouse on a group charter basis.
